My Holiday Shopping Strategy

2012-12-10 | 0 comments

Yes, the holidays are about real family, real friends, real peace to all, of course! But, for me, they are also about the real, precious moments spent with a real good Pinot, truffle salt and oh-so-stinky cheese. I am saving my grocery budget for these holiday necessities. I’ll be damned if I’m going to blow $$ on last minute, pricy weeknight dinners instead of these treats. Lord knows it’s all over in January…

So, I plan. I’m a planner. That’s what I do and I am gonna work it. This week, we are going to get the most flavor out of inexpensive items like ground beef and readily available veggies. No crazy new foods, just straight up fare that my crew has heard of – pizza, soup, enchiladas, sloppy joes – but, all made with real food. And, as time is a budget item too, they are all full of little prep opportunities – there if you want them.

So, as you continue to hack away at the Holiday Checklist, I hope that you will take time to remember what’s important to you – champagne, chocolate?
