Find out my inspiration for the menus, what's happening in my kitchen, and the achievements on the kid-friendly front.

The Dude's Got Mad Skillz

My husband is mad cool. He has the green thumb in the family. I inherited a few things from my parents – my Mom’s palette, my Dad’s golf swing  - but nothing truly useful like their passion for gardening. He keeps our vegetable and herb garden going all year long.  It’s his thing.
My Man studies up on it all throughout the year. He plants his seeds with the kiddos and then they tend the “babies” until they can be transplanted. He combs the Garden Center for the exact varieties that do well in our micro-climate (oh ya, I just said that). He and the kids fill the truck with “poop’” and lay it over the beds, turning it into the earth. Once planted, he nurtures the babes until finally he announces that they are ready to pick.
We are in full swing over here – tomatoes, yellow squash, zucchini, beans, peas, blackberries, horseradish, peppers, and all of the herbs. It smells divine. A bunch will show up in The Plan this week like peppers in Monday’s Chianti Farro Salad, all the herbs and squashes in Tuesday’s Chimichurri Pork Tenderloin and Skewers and how about Wednesday’s Eggplant Involtini – tomatoes, basil, eggplant. Yum.
I am SO lucky to have this wonderful garden right outside but even more lucky to have HIM. I’m sure I don’t say it enough. He’s mad cool.
