I want to eat real food. I want my family to eat real food. Armed with this plan, I know I can do it. I am a real person, with real kids in a regular ol' kitchen cranking out dinner. Find out my inspiration for the menus, what's happening in my kitchen, and the achievements on the kid-friendly front.

What Not to Wear

I’ve had a thought that I want to share. Why do we care SO much about what we wear but not about what we eat? Or, what we put on our bodies vs. what we put in our bodies? Why do we care more about how our kids are dressed and groomed vs. what’s in the lunch box? Just thought I’d throw it out there. Give it a think.
This week is another in the “Can We Just Git ‘er Done” series.
Monday it’s Shrimp Scampi – big flavors, tiny mess. Tuesday we bust out the slowcooker for the Chicken Chili Verde – get it all in and let her rip in the morning. By the afternoon, you just shred the chicken and reheat as needed. Wednesday it’s one of my crew’s house favorites - the Baked Potato Bar. I have a few pals doing the Whole Life Challenge and I am finding myself conscious of its rules – hence the sweet potato option here. Finally, it’s Thursday’s Chicken Enchiladas – don’t miss the tip I added – it will up your enchilada game – for reals.
So, I resolve to be mindful of what’s going in our bodies vs. what’s going on our bodies. Just making the switch to real food is my first step but, that’s an easy one. My DD’s latest fashion choice of tank tops and short shorts?  Now that’s a different story… wish me luck!
