I want to eat real food. I want my family to eat real food. Armed with this plan, I know I can do it. I am a real person, with real kids in a regular ol' kitchen cranking out dinner. Find out my inspiration for the menus, what's happening in my kitchen, and the achievements on the kid-friendly front.

What's Old is New Again

Real families are eating real food! I have been enjoying great reports from the field that you are eating real food and so are the kids. I’ve heard kids are requesting quinoa. And parsnips. And fish! What? That’s awesome!
Recently, I have received requests to see some favorites again. Great idea!  But how about with a twist?

Repeats make sense. I like to find new dishes for The Plan each week but I also know, because I am a real person with a real family, it is not realistic to expect to be successful at dinnertime without repeats. I think that's the key to supper success - add some new things to favorite recipes. That, and there always has to be something your kids like on the plate.
So, here you go – you asked for it you got it - two of each. This week we’ve brought back two favorites Orange-Maple Salmon & Fried Rice and Apple Grilled Cheese & Lentil Soup. And, for the twist, Cochinita Pibil (Mexican-style pulled pork) and Enchiladas.

Leave your family favorites in the comment section below - (they dont have to be Real Family Real Food faves) - cant wait to see what the hits are!

Our all time RFRF favorite is the the roasted portobello sandwich with sun dried tomatoes. Shocking! Because we our a meat lovin' household!

I always do at least one meat-free meal a week, and it's usually some version of soup and sandwich. Grilled cheese and tomato soup are a hit every time, but I made broccoli soup last week and we all enjoyed it with a baguette and some Parmesan cheese crisps. Also, on Halloween night we did a baked potato bar with all the fixings - always a winner in our house! Even when I don't follow one of your recipes to the letter, I never fail to come away from the weekly plan inspired to spice up an old favorite or to try and incorporate something new into the rotation. Thank you!

We have 2 RFRF favs. First is the 7 minutes to heaven pasta. Are you kidding me? Seven minutes and it tastes amazing! Second is the French dip. Yum!
