I think the holidays remind us all of when we were a kid.  When we were so excited about counting down the days. I couldn’t wait until my Gram arrived because I knew Santa was next. I worried about the snow and how the reindeer would make it. I scoured the night sky for Rudolph’s red nose. Fast forward to returning home from college. It was an Amtrak odyssey up the eastern seaboard, a quick stop for “cheer" with friends at Grand Central, and then out to CT. It would be so biting cold and I can still feel the warmth of our home when I walked through the door. The smell of the fire and dinner roasting are such a vivid, snuggly memory. Our holidaytime dinners were just as precious to me then as they are now with my kids. Lingering at the table and being together are what I cherished then and now.

So, amidst the holiday craziness, I hope that you will find time to relax and linger at the dinner table with your families – what’s the rush? You are exactly where you are supposed to be.

I wish you all the happiest of holidays.
