I want to eat real food and I want you to - too! But, let’s be realistic. Busy lives and tender taste buds need to be considered. It’s not realistic to think that we are going to shell a pound of peas and then blanche them when quality organic frozen peas are such a good option. There are a few more items that are just fine and, in my opinion, are excellent step savers: diced/stewed tomatoes, dried herbs, hoisin, good mayo, artichoke hearts, just to name a few. I have made all of these from scratch and while I enjoy that sort of thing, it’s just not very practical. We can, however, use these step saving real food products to enhance our fresh choices. That’s what we are doing this week.
